Hi there, is there any one can help me, i am importing approximately 1900 products into shopping cart creator pro, The data is from a supplier and in excel format.

I have re arranged all the columns to fall in line with shopping cart creator CSV format and so i have no problems importing a file as such.

My problem is that there are errors and inconsistencies in the supplied file which i am slowly teasing out, However, to find them i have to attempt to import into the stopping cart, and note the errors and go hunt them down.

To give you a for instance, there were over 250 products with an incorrect image file name, and a simple list of the lines in error rather than one by one, would be of great assistance and time saving.

What i need is the "import error" list that shopping cart creator pro must create, so that i can print out and then hunt the little so and so's down without flicking from shopping cart to excel on a one by one basis.

Does any one know where the list is or what its called, or a better way of dealing with these errors

Regards
George

While someone here 'might' know, I would suggest opening a support topic with CoffeeCup as they can tell you more about what you might be looking for.

Go to the top menu and click 'Support' then 'Your Support Room' to open a topic.

Then check back here while you wait. As I said, someone might know. Sorry it's not me...

I always recommend user export their shop to csv then add the additional products to the excel sheet using excels ability to quickly manipulate the new data to the format of the existing ones.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks for your quick replies... I did export a small shop to csv to get the correct format for the shopping cart to accept.

The great majority of this particular suppliers excel sheet is fine, for instance if i just import the first 200 lines then shopping cart is happy and presents no import error messages, and the shop looks great!

However further into the suppliers data, there are errors such as picture references to a files that do not exist, or N/A placed in the weight column for instance, which causes shopping cart creator throw import error messages at me.

If this was a small file, then it wouldn't be a problem, but 1900 x 38 columns is a lot to check one by one, and the complete error list would make life a lot easier.

Excels filter powers should handle this. Even a macro to alter the data to the correct format.:) Better yet an e-mail to the provider to get the format correct.;)
