Image Distortion
Ok, I have set up my theme with the product detail settings at 300x300 for the main image and 80x80 thumbnails to ensure three of them can fit horizontally below the main image. I inserted three identical images into SCCP as a test. The image size when inserted is 300x300. When I go to preview the product details page it looks perfect, no complaints. BUT.....
When I click on the pic and the images pops up, all but one of the images are distorted and none of them when the properties are checked are 300x300. When I right click and select properties it gives me the follwing sizes - 2 @ 333x445, 1 @ 593x445 and 1 @ 445x445. I could really care less if it resizes the images as long as it doesnt distort them. What I cant figure out is why its doing seperate things when all of the images are the exact same file. I have looked through the forums, help files, etc. etc. and have played with it alot but Im still overlooking at what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?

could you give us a website to look at or some screenshots of your issue?

I'll try to get it published under a temp url here in a little bit but I have attached some SS to look at. There is only three SS, the first two of the product are distorted or size increase and the last two are the correct size. I could not repeat this issue exactly the way I had listed it before but it still is messed up. All photos were inserted at 300x300, SS1 the image size was changed to 333x445, SS2 - 445x445, SS3 (image 3&4 are alike) are correct at 300x300.
FYI something that I have discovered while tinkering is that the issue is only with the first product that I have inserted into the first category. All of the following products within this category work like they are supposed to. At this point I am tempted to delete the troublesome product and see if the issue is with just that particular product or if it has something to do with that position in the product list. Or should I wait and publish it so the CC peoples can look at this anomaly?

I just ran a test on my system and uploaded an image that was 300x300. I uploaded it as the main image and also as the first two thumbnail images. The resolution appeared to stay the same. So, maybe you just need to redownload your version.
Also, what file format are you using? You will have issues if you are using the .gif format since its quality does not degrade as well as .jpg or .png.

I lost Internet over the weekend and have just got it back this evening. The things we take for granted until we dont have them for even a little while!!
Since my last post and because I was never able to get the site uploaded, I tinkered it with it some more and deleted the product detail that was giving me trouble. Since then I havent had any more issues. But to answer your question I am using .jpg's. I dont know what was causing all the fuss it just seems to be a temporary glitch. Its a good software, it definitely has room for improvement but it will get there.
