I have all of the products quantities set to one. On the check out page, a customer can input their own quantity number, hit the update cart and the quantity will then reflect the number they put in.

Thanks

If you set under quantities "Use Default Quantity" and make it 1, when they try to modify the amount to another value, it will not allow them.

Try it here at http://hotsync.net/test/viewitem.php?gr … roductid=5

Add it to your cart and then try and change the quantity to any number. It will say: "Quantity can only be: 1."

Hi,

in my ignorance I took it for granted that with a shopping cart software you get a basic stock control, and realised only today when testing that this was not the case!!

I sell unique one-of-a-kind glass beads and jewellery, and require the very simplest way of stock control - basically, when it reaches zero, it becomes unavailable. This was the main reason why I purchased this software. The worst is, I have advertised your shopping cart software loud and wide all over the glass forums which I am a member of  Now I need to warn that your software does not offer this option. Can you give any info on if/when stock control becomes available, and to what price?

I apologise profusely if I come across grumpy - I'm just a tad disappointed, as I thought I'd got the right thing. To me this software is unusable as it is.

Cheers,
Julie

Inventory management is something we have in the works for a future update, but right now I cannot give a definitive date on when it will be available.

Thanks, Scott, I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this package, and I find it blissfully simple to use :-)

As a new member I was reading through these posts and was interested in the stock control aspect mentioned in this thread.
When stock management is included in the cart software how will it work? Will it automatically reduce stock as it is paid for via the checkout, and on reaching zero will automatically remove the item from sale. But what if other customers have added the same item to their basket but have been a bit slow in paying - when they go to pay, the item will no longer be available.
Should the stock level be reduced as the item is added to the basket and increased if not subsequently bought? How does other shopping software work?

Cheers

We have not fully designed that feature yet, but we will probably have 1-2 options. Set how many you have in stock and when that is depleted it will either remove the product completely from the cart or make it so you cannot purchase it any more.

Scott, can you please send me information on being a part of the beta testing for the Pro version? I was just about to buy the current shopping cart when I was messing around with the trial version I discovered that there was no inventory control! So, I searched the forum and found this thread. I am interested in purchasing immediately if there is inventory control. PLEASE let me beta test the pro!!!!!

Thanks :D

Hi Charles

Right now I am not accepting any new testers for the pro version. Our goal is to offer a public beta towards the end of Q1.
