I need stock control as on one site I sell original paintings.
On another site I sell antiques so I only ever have one item of each in stock.

Once sold I would like to have the option of what it then shows preferably to blank out the price and then have the wording I chose like SOLD or whatever I feel would be appropriate for the site its on.

Coffee Cup Please give us stock control !!!

I think most users would agree, having the ability to show "SOLD" or zero in the quantity would be a huge benefit. Seeing as my website sells one of a kind items we are forced to closely watch our emails. Thanks for the consideation C.C.

I too would love to participate in a beta program both for additions to this product and for any "pro" version.

If you come here and ask 'How do I use a jackhammer?', we might ask 'Why do you need to use a jackhammer'? If the answer is 'to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer', then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers.

I too bought the shopping cart software before I realized it didn't offer any sort of inventory control. This is a MUST with the number of items I sell and am glad to see it will be added to future updates, yay! Until then, I can't use it...

Since I offer close to 2000 different charms, it would be next to impossible to keep up with inventory adjustments several times a day.

I am planning to eventually use CC instead of Yahoo for many reasons, one of them being that Yahoo's inventory data base is very cumbersome and time consuming to work with. I appreciate that CC wants to keep it simple!

As a merchant, I would like to be able to add the inventory level of each item in the same area the price, description etc. is added. It would also be great if the customers could see the inventory levels before adding items to the cart.

Hope this is all possible as you work on the updates....Thanks!

Hey ... I need inventory control, too. I often have one of this and one of that but not all the time. I need the item to go to 'not available' when the last one is sold. Club 100 does a brisk business on-line since 1983 via BBSes and via the Internet since the early '90s. Up until now, I have used a simple order form that pipes the info to my email. It's worked great all these years. It is very, very, very (that's 3 very's) sad that Shopping Cart Creator is so limited.

Count me in for testing the pro version ... and can I get it by the end of the week?

I have other issues with the program as well and will post each one in a few minutes.

And, I will work with you guys to help make this program better ... I'm not a negative person ... most of the time! :)

I love coffee cup software but I too was unaware that it did not do inventory control on a basic level. I have thousands of products and many buyers will buy 4 or 5 of one pattern at a time. If there was something that automatically posted a short note of our choosing (like out of stock, sold out...ect) that way it would not allow a buyer to purchase more and I could go back and update it with more inventory when my shipments come in.

The problem with this is, and for me it is big. If a customer is allowed to buy 6 plates of one pattern and of course pay for it, they expect 6 plates. When I have to go back and tell them, sorry, there is only 1 or 2 available.... not only does this cause issues for them, but I look unprofessional and chance losing that customer.

Anyhoo, I look forward to a pro version but I am by no means a professional. I sort of teach myself as I go, so I hope it doesn't require alot of re-doing and re-working of products individually because with thousands of items, that is alot of down time. Otherwise, coffee cup Rocks!

Would it be possible to add the stock control as a .csv or even just a plain .txt file. would read something like.
shop stock
product1 123 product2 0 product3 2 etc.
Or
Shop Stock
product1 123
product2 0
product3 2

Keeping a text based file would make it quite small in size, and quite easy to then manipulate if needed with basic software. And any simple spreadsheet program would be able to import the data, so you could then get sales figures.
Keeping clear of a specific database program is a definite must. I personally hate them.

Until this issue is addressed is there any way to limit the number of products to only 1 available. Selling only one of a kind items, this is important. For now its not a big deal if the program does not adjust, I just need to limit the quantity the customer can choose. Are there any options?

Thanks in advance
