I know this is down in the standard scc thread, but since I'm using sccp thought I would post this here.

Problem:
I can save the shop manually no problem. When I go to publish (2 products right now) I get the error "Failed while saving products", so I added a new product and did a save as. I still get the error, I tried to do Preview the store and recieved an error saying it couldn't preview the shop.

Thank you,

I would check your product names or sku's for incompatible characters. Do you have any of these - ():;"? Also make sure there's no spaces.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

This is caused by your anti-virus program not allowing our software to write to the Windows\Temp folder. You need to configure your anti-virus program to allow full access to this folder. Consult your documentation for that program for instructions.

From my experience, I have seen this mostly a problem with Trend Micro.

ok I reinstalled both sccp and scdp and everything appears to be working. Maybe a corrupted file somewhere but all is good :)

Thank you

Scott, I was getting this error last night, but I do not have Trend Micro.

The only solution I could find, which was very time consuming, was to uninstall the program, clear the temp files (using CCleaner), manually searching the registry and delete any keys related to the software, then reinstalling the software. After doing these steps I was able to publish the shop.

I noticed the error was happening when I deleted the empty category "Home", then tried to publish. I could save after doing that, but if I tried to publish I got the error "Failed while saving products".

Trend Micro is just one anti-virus program we have found that causes this error. However the same process applies. If the software cannot write to the Temp folder, you will get that error. You need to check your anti-virus software and make sure it allows you to write to that folder.
