I'm using SCCP with a custom theme designed with SCDP (originally from Blank theme), navigation on the left. Is it possible to have the categories automatically expanded and listed down the left instead of on flyout menus?

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Yes, there is a setting somewhere that turns on the Cart Summary, but I can't find it at the moment. Maybe someone else will chim in here.

I can't remember all the themes, but did you not see one where this is possible? Basically any of the themes can then be adapted to your own needs... colours, graphics and all so don't be put off by the default theme set up since SCD Pro allows you to make changes to almost everything. But... you will need to do this in the SCDesigner Pro unless you want to tangle with the actual code files if you have only the Shopping Cart Creator Pro...

The Classical Jazz theme does that, either on the right or left. It has the option for top nav too, but you'd want to try to play around the right or left for what you want. I've seen a few shops here in the "Show your site" thread with that theme and using the categories listed down the side.

There are probably other themes that do it too, look for the ones that have right & left navigation as they usually are categorised the way you're after.

But on the cart summary you mentioned Steven, I wouldn't mind knowing how to turn that on for a test play. If anyone knows that would be great.

You can toggle the cart summary on and off from Shopping Cart Designer Pro. Select Cart Summary Properties from the drop down menu to the right and there is a check box under the advanced tab for "Hide Cart Summary"

I'm still looking everywhere for the option to expand the categories. I'm using the Classical Jazz theme too and I've seen it set up where the categories are expanded in the menu rather than jumping out to the side. Hopefully someone else will point that out.

Thank you for that Tim. I will have a play around with that.

Regarding Classical Jazz, I thought if you used the default side nav theme, it automatically expanded the categories down the side. I've seen people ask if they can do the other way around, have flyout catergory lists instead of them all listed down the side.

Bren, you are absolutely right about the Classical Jazz theme... I was just playing around with a couple themes and I thought that was the theme I was using.. but I changed my mind after playing around with it a bit to get the look my wife wanted and decided to go with the clean slate theme, which by default does have the pop-out categories, sooo.. I guess I know why my categorizes pop out!

By the way.. here is my page.. http://kimberlyconwaysart.com/

Anyway.. at least you have your cart summary settings to play around with!

No problems Tim. Your site is lovely. Your wifes' artwork is beautiful too. I can see why you thought you were using the Classical Jazz template as it is a very similar layout. I think you'd be able to almost match that to a tee using the Classical Jazz template, and then get the expanded categories you want. Good luck with it.

I am going to play around with the Cart summary soon. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works. Thanks again for the tip. I had no idea that it was an option to turn on & off. :)
