I'm having a real issue when trying to change formatting on pages and also on product descriptions. The software seems to drag when trying to just change font size. The problem is more pronounced if you have a lot of data on a page, i.e. a lot of characters to format

This is driving me nuts and I'm about at the point that I'm not able to use the software anymore.

Please help.

What do you mean by formatting in SCCP? SCDP is where you do the design work for your site.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hey there. You can look at my site here: www.airgunproshop.com

When you go to the Terms & Restrictions page you'll see it is quite long. Let's say I want to change the font for all the content from 14 to 12.. when you select all the content in Shopping Cart Creator Pro, the program will drag significantly and then change all the content to 36 point arbitrarily.

As I said in my original post this issue is exaggerated based on the volume of content on the page.

I've also had the same issue with my product descriptions. If you look at my products, you'll see that some of the data is quite detailed as I'm dealing with specialized items.

Let me know if you have any questions for me or if you wanted to "see" what I'm referring to in real time. We can setup a gotomeeting session if you like.

Cheers

Are you hand coding the text formatting in or are you using the text tool built into the shop?

There's not that much on the page though, it shouldn't give you that much issues for a few little paragraphs so yes I'd say something isn't right there but....

Why are you editing the font styles there instead of in the Designer program? If you need to set a new font style for the pages of your shop, then the Designer is where you should be doing that. The only time you really need to do any changes in the Creator program is for small areas of text that you may want in a different font or size than the rest of the page, small being a word or sentence here and there, not full pages. Very few sites have full pages of text in a different font or size than the rest of their site.

Try making your changes in the Creator program and see if that fixes your problem of latency with editing the text.

@Scott - Unless he's doing something wrong, which I'm not sure how editing text by trying to highlight a large chunk would be "wrong", then there's probably a problem there, or he's got issues with his computer which is what I'd say is more likely.

@Rick - I would check to see if you some some kind of conflict going on your computer, maybe you have too many programs open for your computer's memory status. Or maybe you've left your computer on for weeks and it needs a reboot? I dunno...

I can say I used the program for quite a few years before I took my shop down (no fault of the software lol) and I never had that issue, and trust me, Scott can tell you if anyone was going to have that issue back then it would have been me as my computer had Gremlins of it's own lol. I think it's your computer Rick, something somewhere is causing you issues, but I don't think the program itself is the problem here.

Hey there All,

It's been about a year since I reported this issue that I was having. I gave up trying to use the built in page/HTML editor. Last November I upgraded to a new computer: Intel i7, 16 GB ram, etc. (previous computer was an AMD 6 Core with 16gb ram) The problem still existed when trying to edit any of the pages with the built in editor, and became increasingly problematic the longer the page. For really long pages, I simply coded them in HTML and then pasted them in.

Because of the issues I was having and some of the other limitations, I moved the original site over to a WordPress shopping cart. Later last year I was approached by a customer of mine to build a "down and dirty" eCommerce site to test moving some of their refurbished products. I opted to give your software another try and I built the following site: http://www.airgunproshop.com/hatsan-reman/index.php I've been using this since last August or so. It's been working fairly well, but still was plagued by the issues I had previously described.

I was loading software on my new laptop (Intel i7, 8GB ram, etc.) and I noticed this weekend that you've released an update for this software. I'm able to edit, at least so far, my content pages with much greater efficiency. The client decided to change the phrase "remanufactured" to "refurbished." This required editing every product, and page on the site. I was able to accomplish this in the span of about 3 or 4 hours and did not experience a single issue with the operation or speed of the application. I'd be very curious as to what updates were made to the software in the most recent release.

My hope is that you'll expand the options for static pages with improved editing functions, i.e. add images, text aliment, etc., and allow for sub-pages as well, maybe even a blog. With that type of flexibility, I would not need to have a wordpress site at the front of the cart, but could use a single application which would be ideal.

As always, I'm available to chat at your convenience if you would like.

Regards
Rick
