Hi Peter, SCCP doesn't support digital downloads at this time. It's expected in a future update as it's been requested a lot. The work around that other users have been using is putting a form on their page to get information from the customer to send them a link once their purchase is verified.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Or if PayPal is used, just state that the PayPal email address used to pay for the item will receive the product or download link.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

It isn't instant, but I sell e-books using SCC this way:

I offer the product, and explain that with the purchase a 'key' link will be emailed back. I do this by hand, just like I process an order for physical stuff. So, it isn't an 'instant' turn-around. People seem to understand this and accept it.

I upload the file (usually a .pdf) to a page on my website using VSD. I do not link this page to anything on my site. The file link is just stored there on that page with instructions to click to access the file.

After I get the order via Paypal, I return the link to the email address on the Paypal order. I have the ability to use Web Access Manager to control their access, too. Sometimes I do this, sometimes I just give them the link without protection.

My books are not that 'precious' so if I get hit with trouble or abusive downloads, I can deal with it. It has not been a problem, and it has worked very well. This has allowed me to affordably offer some obscure publications to a very limited (but appreciative) readership.

Works for me......

Yes, the ability for SCCP to handle digital sales would be an an amazingly useful feature in the next release.....whenever scheduled.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
