I am interested in a shopping cart. I have a retail store, thus I have my own credit card processing equipment. Can I use your shopping cart without having to use paypal or equivelent payment processing methods?

You have to use one of the included payment gateway services. The cart does not collect personal or CC data.

You could leave the payment gateways switched off, and accept payment over the phone, and just let customers use print page option

I have been asked to build a store for my sister who owns a florist. My question is can I leave the payment gateway off and provide a form to submit the CC information and have the order emailed to her so she can reenter it into her point of sale system.Her POS already has CC processing. Is this possible?

Seriously, one should never give credit card details over the phone or through email. Anyone sending this through non-encrypted methods are just asking for trouble.

I once had someone contact me to do some website revisions. After I viewed his website and found that he was doing exactly that, I promptly emailed him to explain that I didn't want to be associated with his website.

You are better off using a gateway or similar service like PayPal or Google Checkout.

There is rogue software called 'sniffers' that just scan passing emails at high speed looking for credit card numbers. NEVER send out your credit card details via email, as it will only be a matter of time before they are compromised.

Do you envisage ever adding Globecharge as a payment gateway? Is it possible to integrate them into SCCP?

They also offer "offline payments" so that credit cards can be processed a little later (as suggested by Mike Crookshank) when goods are actually prepared and shipped. They use an ingenious method to pass the details to the vendor. Half of it is available via vendor login, and the other half (five digits of the cc number) is via email. This way there is no one place the full details are stored.
