I have noticed that when I make a site map and place it on my website and a Google site map and upload it to Google. After a few edits in SCCP most of the links are broken.
I as well build a spread sheet by hand for uploading my products to Google base which takes hours because SCCP does not offer the product links and the image links in the CSV file.
Then to repeat the statement above, after an edit or two of some unknown or random thing, SCCP re-uploads all the pages and renames all the links and changes all the image names and I have to rework everything. When I see it happen I almost flip out of my chair backwards knowing that I now have 4 to 5 hours of work to redo.
The basic shopping cart was doing this as well the pro. So am I doing something wrong being I can't find anything about this problem anywhere in the forum?
Does anyone know a way to stop this from happening?

If you move products around, change categories, change names etc., links will change. SCC does not use perma links, so they can change from time to time.

That answers it, I have been changing the names of the categories and inserting subs and moving products in to them.
I knew the links were not changing when I created new products and did not seem to change when I edited a product.
Will the link will change if I change the product title?
I guess that once the store is groomed and stable this problem will go away on it's own.
But I still see a need for an export from SCC that includes the current page and image links so they can be used on programs like Google Base. After all this program is to help us sell products and Google Base is one of the best free ways I know of to get to the customers.
Changing the title will be fine. It is when the product changes position that causes the link to be modified.

Absolutely agree with that. When I saw that SCCP would export a csv file I naturally assumed (big mistake) that would be a total dump. Like it or not, Google Base (Merchant Center) is the major Free marketing tool for product available to the small and medium size seller.
I will check into that and see if there is something we can do in a future version.

Thanks Scott. I'm not mad, although my posts at time may appear so. I am a happy CC user over all and have most (except for 3/4) programs. I am completely OK with SCCP. Will be more so when you can add the Discount thingy, hook to Amazon Payments, do the digital download bit, and consider strongly not changing image file names.

I just went through an exported csv file and I don't see anything left out. Everything you see in the Product Grid tab is exported to the file. What fields were you referring to that were missing? For the current page, do you mean including something like http://swag.coffeecup.com/viewitem.php?productid=63 someplace?
If so, the only issue I can see is knowing the correct path to show for that and the images. We would need to parse the domain name from the server settings and append the remote folder path to it. This may not always be 100% accurate.

Scott, yep! exactly with following comments:
The csv file does not provide product ID on the web correlation to product in the export file.
http://www.mysite.com/shopdemo/viewitem.php?productid=0
My csv SKU_1110001 for above item. (I wish to use my own sku but I guess if I allow SCCP assign then do the sku ending number and product ID match?) Another test to run.
Images are as shown on the C drive with a slightly different name.
In CSV Export File C Drive location\images\image0_0_0.jpg
http://www.mysite.com/shopdemo/ccdata/i … in_0_0.jpg
http://www.mysite.com/shopdemo/ccdata/i … in_0_0.jpg
Google data feed requires full domain address per item. And full domain address for main photo/s (not thumbnails). Which in the above example would be imageMain_0_0.jpg. Not the same as in the csv file.
The only way I see to get product ID full address is after publishing by copying from site. Same for image. If the information is in the csv export then I fail to see it. May be a matter of trees and forest.

I'd like to chime in as another happy SCCP customer, but I would definitely appreciate Google Base support. Like the OP I will probably create the file manually or write a script to create it for me, but built-in support would be a BIG advantage for SCCP.
