Are their plans for a LOGIN, REGISTRATION, WISHLIST, PASSRECOVERY for the Shopping Cart Pro? Has anyone implemented their own login/registration system for the software?
Thanks,
Henry
Are there plans for...? - Post ID 184541
Hiya Henry,
I doubt very much that the program will incorporate most of what you are asking for as it does not gather (nor do they have plans to incorporate it) any personal information from the customers. Your Payment processing system will gather all that information so the program itself retains nothing of the user info at all. Because of this, there is no way to setup a login, registration, wishlist, passrecovery system as it has never been gathered to start with and isn't stored anywhere at all via the program. Hopefully that makes sense. It's done this way to keep it simple for people to use, and although it would be nice to have this, it would incorporate a lot more licensing setups to use it which most people don't want to mess with.
As for the rest, you can use the Web Access Manager program to allow a sort of login to your site. I say sort of because although it makes you log in, what it's making you log in for is access to the actual web address itself, not the site. There is no log in/log out type thing for it in that sense, it's basically just telling the browser you are allowed to access this site page (or set of pages or domain etc.). There isn't any information retained with this setup either.
There are people that may have worked with PHP and Databases to create some types of login systems that people could create things like Wishlists with, but the software itself, nor Web Access Manager can do that.
I know it's most likely not the answer you wanted to hear, but hope it helps to explain it a little
