Our florist site has the same issue. You could check out our site plumbfarms.com to see how we got around this issue, but it is a bit cumbersome and confusing for our customers. I would love to see this integration feature in the future.
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to configure Paypal so that the shipping address (that the customer sees) is the recipient's address and not the sender's address.

David,
Do mind if I submit a form on your site to see how it works?
Thanks

Sure, no problem David
It looks like you figured it out before I did. You put the redirect on the form back to cart? Have you had any problems with it?

I received your test form. We've had no real problems with the form, but it is cumbersome for the customer.
I am in the process of trying to figure out if I can get Paypal to not list the customer's address as the shipping address. This has caused confusion with some customers, since they think the flowers will be delivered to themselves.

Thanks David, Let us know how you make out with Paypal.
