How do we get on a list to be notified when the Pro comes out? I really don't want to buy now, knowing the Pro is just around the corner.

In reference to my earlier message which I realy wouldnt mind knowing, as well as many other UK users:

Will cc Store Creator include Royal Mail (UK) postage option within CC store Creator Pro?

S far we have only seen the giant worldwide companies such as UPS & DHL intergrated but the problem is that only people running full scale businesses can afford these guys. Most UK sellers who create stores selling products within the UK only send items via Royal Mails several different services. This would be a giant upgrade alone to store creator if the pro version intergrated Royal Mails different postage options. Sod the rest of the upgrades (except sub categories, oviously), we demand Royal Mail. Errr sorry but thanks at the same time, lol.

The initial release of the Pro version will not have any tie-ins to any shipping vendors. Once that is released, we will start with the major shippers and work from there. I would expect to first see UPS, FedEx and probably USPS.

I have had the pro version for a few weeks now, putting it through its beta testing and taking an active part in the development and refinement process.

The only problem with Royal Mail lies with the crossover point between large letter size which applies to most small Jiffy bags and the small packet rates. Although I obviously can't comment on what exactly will appear on the formal release of this product, it is possible to use the forthcoming weight based shipping constructively, so that the correct shipping rate is applied to that product, for a chosen postal option. I use a similar system on my 'other' cart software and I am able to ship items worldwide using Royal Mail services.

Weight based shipping gives an incredibly flexible solution, which is why I 'banged the drum so loudly' for it to be incorporated into the pro version of Cart Creator.

I'm still chomping at the bit for SCC Pro !

In fact, this past weekend I spent a couple of hours populating a database of my products. I'm building a photography store to sell custom images. The database is based on Scott's Product Grid hints in the first post of this thread, and automatically fills in the SKU and product Title based on the image title (130+ images), option (print only, matted or framed), and size (4 standard sizes); that's over 1500 unique products. I'm hoping I can plug this right in to SCC Pro when it arrives.

Wish I had some more hints on how the parent category and category system is set up, and on the rest of the fields in the product grid. That way I could get my store up very quickly once SCC Pro is out.

The only hints we've gotten recently go something like, "..by the end of December,", "...by the end of January," "...by the end of February or early March." So Scott, please give us something more to chew on.

The rest of my site has been ready (enough) since early January, and I've really enjoyed using VSD, Photo Gallery, Flash Fire Starter, Web Form Builder and Shopping Cart Designer Pro to build my photo business site. But SCC basic just won't do the things my site must do. I really need SCC Pro. My business is depending on it, and as you folks well know, time is money.

Thanks again for your outstanding array of great products. I'm sure SCC Pro will be well received here.

We are actually keep a tight lip on all the features for a specific reason as many things are constantly changing and we are trying to get as many features in the first release as possible. We will not post any feature list until the software is pretty much ready for release. The 3rd and we think final beta test is just wrapping up now.

I currently have a store where the hosting company has an integrated store. What I like about it is that I can upload pictures in the appropriate size, ie. Thumbnail and enlarged. I can then build a spreadsheet with the skus, descriptions, pricing, tax info, shipping info, picture names and everything else. When I import the file, it finds the appropriate pictures, categories and such. It effectively creates the items in the store in a batch mode. I can then edit each item if needed.

Is that something SCC will do or do you have to create each item in the store separately?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
