Is there any update as to when pro might be released?

Is it like any day or are we still weeks or months out from release?
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Can't really say just yet. We are still putting together a to-do list based off our last round of beta testing.

As a a big fan of Coffee Cup software having all the software in my catalogue. with SCC and SCD i was given the freedom i wanted in designing cart the way i wanted but one thing still escapes me. digital downloads i have one or two carts that i can use for this but none give me the freedom of design that Coffee Cup do,
So question is, is there any hint that the up and coming release of the pro version of SCC will have this option, one way or another ill buy the pro anyway but it would make my day if it has.

Thanks

The initial release of the Pro version will not have it, but it will be included in one of the subsequent updates.

Hi Scott,
All the best for the new year to you and the coffeecup team..........

Just having a gripe. We had put a hold on updating our shop for the published release of the Pro Version by the end of the year (2009) You could have told us, for "Beta" release.
If we start updating our shop with the current version of shopping cart. Can we carry on (open / import) the shop in the pro version?

Thanks......Brian

I was very careful NEVER to specifically give a date ;) It was our hope to have it out by the end of the year but as with any large development project, there are many, many things to test. I am pretty sure all of you would like it done right and bug free then released with problems.

When the pro version is released, all you need to do is install the software and open your shop.

I'm quite certain that it was clearly discussed that there would be a BETA testing period. I remember one person in particular saying that though they were in desperate need of the PRO version, they'd rather have a well tested release than a slapped together "we'll bandage it as we go" release. I don't think anyone ever recommended that users hold off updating there storefronts.

Phil
Sorry could not find where it said release for Beta testing.

So there you have it — a little glimpse of what’s to come in December when Shopping Cart Creator Pro is released. When we get closer to the release date, I’ll post a detailed description of all the features and functions in the new version, but for now, this is all you’re going to get out of me

I am not wanting to split hairs over this but I was directing the question to Scott and he gave me a sensible and good reply.:)
As for updating the shop, I didnt say that anyone said hold off updating.

The pro version was designed by software developers, not shop owners. The beta testing is not only to test for bugs and functionality, but also to allow for operational assessment by a small diverse testing group that includes folks with existing online businesses.

The beta testing group has not only reported back on minor bugs to the development team, but has given suggestions on improving the initial release of the product, to make the pro version more usable in a mainstream commercial environment.

Many folks will be using the pro version in more advanced business deployments than has realistically been possible with the current basic version, so it's vital that the new product is not only stable when it's released to the general public, but also has a workable feature set. Nobody wants shop owners to lose potential sales from rushing a half finished product out of the door.

All I can say as one of the beta testers, is that it will be worth the extra wait. :)

Not really sure what is being implied here, but YES, as a parent of two homeschooled children, I am a teacher :D. As far as bored? NEVER.
