I notice that on some people's sites their banner goes the whole length of the page. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how they do it. In CCSCDP how do you set the banner to go the whole length of a page?

whole length as in from end to end, or whole length as in length of your site size? if it's length of your site size it's just in the settings for that area for the logo. Lemme fire it up and see exactly what my settings are on mine. Mine goes from end to end of the site size not window size so if you mean the other way then I can't help with that I don't think

Here's all the settings for the Header area of my theme (my theme is based on the no longer in use Jupiter theme which has been altered in images and in positioning via CSS quite a bit)

Header Properties:

Header Area Background - Transparent
empty
no repeat
nothing set on Horiz or Vert position and both at 0

Header Background - Transparent

nothing set on Horiz or Vert position and both at 0

Shop Logo

Keep Original Size is checked, and image is sized according to site area wanting to be covered

Shrink Header area - unchecked

(these settings may need adjusting according to the theme you are using, these are what work for Jupiter Theme setup)

Header Padding

I think to do that you'll need to utilize it as the Header background maybe. And you may need to split it up between header background and another area but I'm not real sure which. I do know that the Header background area spans the entire window of your screen so I'm sure that's where the main part is you'll need. Maybe try putting the image or settings in that part instead of the Shop Logo section and see?

I've heard others talking about having to put part of the image in 1 spot and part in the other to get it to do this, but I really don't know which 2 were used. I know they discussed it on these forums though so maybe it can be found without too much difficulty. The idea was that you needed to take your full size image and cut off a certain amount of pixels horiz and vert that would fit into the 1 spot (smaller area) and then the rest went into the other spot which would come together and look as if it were one image.

It sounds like you might need to split it into 3 images then, one main one that goes where the header normally does and two ends that would be in the background. Or you could just have one in the background that incorporates the two ends with a gap in the middle...if that makes sense....so that when one is overlaid on the other it looks like one image.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

That is exactly what I had to do. Thanks all for the help.

You're quite welcome, wish I could have pointed you to exactly the right places, but close counts LOL

Thanks for the added info too Tassie, I don't play with enough of those settings these days, I really need to work on my patience level lol, when I get frustrated I give up too easy lol

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
