Hi All
Thanks for replies. If you search hpmrcboats.coffeecup.com it shows but not if you search www.hpmrcboats.coffeecup.com why? I would imagine most people are going to www. in front and then get the message that nothing is there yet

There shouldn't be a "www" in front of hpmrcboats.coffeecup.com

I never use www. when I type an address.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Similar to what Phil said: www.hpmrcboats.coffeecup.com is a different subdomain from hpmrcboats.coffeecup.com

There should be a redirect at both locations to either your stream or site , but I guess that's just not what CC wants to do. :P

What? You want a subdomain for a subdomain? :)

Mainly for those in the world who don't know what a subdomain is and might type www. in front. ;)

WWW prefix

Many domain names used for the World Wide Web begin with www because of the long-standing practice of naming Internet hosts (servers) according to the services they provide. The hostname for a web server is often www, in the same way that it may be ftp for an FTP server, and news or nntp for a USENET news server. These host names appear as Domain Name System (DNS) subdomain names, as in www.example.com. The use of 'www' as a subdomain name is not required by any technical or policy standard; indeed, the first ever web server was called nxoc01.cern.ch,[25] and many web sites exist without it. Many established websites still use 'www', or they invent other subdomain names such as 'www2', 'secure', etc. Many such web servers are set up such that both the domain root (e.g., example.com) and the www subdomain (e.g., www.example.com) refer to the same site; others require one form or the other, or they may map to different web sites.

It's sooo hard to get people to change, once they get in the HABIT of something. No matter how useless the habit. Think of all the time (and keyboards) you'd save by omitting the stinking www :D I've actually had to replace 2 keyboards for broken w keys way back in the day. LOL!!!

Can anyone help? I tried to publish my site. When I click the button that says view my site I get this message "Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /a/n/a/designsbydana/site/ on this server.

Apache Server at designsbydana.coffeecup.com Port 80" any suggestions?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
