Client Accounts

I have a few client sites that I would like to move to S-Drive when their hosting plans come due. Is it OK for me to get another Webby acct. and use it for client sites, or do they need to contact CC themselves to set something up? I maintain their sites, so having them on my S-Drive space would be ideal, but I don't want to do anything that's not cool with CC :)

Right now you can only have one plan per account, so what you would need to do is setup a new account on our system and purchase the Webbie plan under that. Eventually we will setup a way to do all this from a single account.

Not sure if this is similar to what Paintbrush is doing, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Based on Scott S.'s response, is it correct I can only have one Webby account? (As in one account per customer). Was just thinking if I were to exceed the 3 sites on the current Webby account, it would be more cost effective to have a second Webby since I don't need the added functionality of the Shopkeeper account (yet).

So if I understand correctly, I could do this by establishing a new (separate) account/login and purchasing the second Webby account that way; therefore having the potential of running up to six sites for a total of $10.

Just looking to see what my options could be - don't want to present any problems.:D

Hi Joe,
Yes, I see no reason why you couldn't set up a second CC user account and then a 2nd paid S-Drive Webbie account and between your two accounts you'd have 6 sites for $9.90/m

Dave,
Thanks for the info. Though I've only got one site at the moment, I was just thinking how it would be cheaper having a second Webby account since I don't need the added functionality of the Shopkeeper account. From my dealings with CoffeeCup's customer service, they seem to be quite reasonable, flexible, and downright generous.

Hi Joe,

They are that, in spades. You will not find an easier going company who produce a very high quality suite of software and deal with their customers like the paying souls that they are, and they do appreciate us all.

Like you, I just have the one site. I don't develop commercially but I do use the cart software for my own shop, so I have the Shopkeeper plan on S-Drive to facilitate publishing my shop. I hope that CC will revise the S-Drive plans to offer more options or allow us to "buy what you need" and build your own plan etc. or something along those lines.

The 4 options currently available are not exactly a catch-all offering if you ask me.

Another option would be to offer bolt-on upgrades to the plans. Example: Use Webbie and need a shop, add $3 per month, need another site or web form, add $2 etc.

They'll get there when they can and as always with CC, it'll be worth the wait :)

Dave :)

Heres an interesting fact many users overlook.

Buy a copy of VSD and get website hosting for free

The wedding site in my signature is on one such account
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement
Hosted FREE on CC S DRIVE www.chauffeurdrivenluxurycars.co.uk
My new VSD & SCCP site Oct 2011 www.deloreanjewellery.co.uk
My friendly window cleaner www.mwcwindowcleaner.co.uk

Wow, that is news to me Viv...

I thought the deal was: Buy VSD and get 3 months free hosting?
I own VSD but I have never realised that this entitles me to any hosting beyond the 3 month offer.
Do tell...... :):)

I queried this with Scott when i was setting up Trevors wedding car website

Because i am an amateur, and lets face it anything could go wrong if i stopped web sites, too busy making signet rings, or heaven forbid something else, i wanted Trevor to have his own hosting account.

mine is with Justhost, so initially he had his own justhost account £60.00 per year

Then i spotted this deal on CC so Trevor opened a CC account, bought a copy of VSD and we re uploaded it there instead, about 18 months ago i think.

Now if you think about it for a small 7 page website, coffeecup got a sale of VSD, which trevor didn't need but as a result if anything ever happens he has total control, well his son in law would, as trevor cant see past emails :)

It has limited space, 1 form, no fancy stuff, no shop and takes up so little server space CC seem content, and after all as a direct result they have sold 3 more licenses for VSD which i set up for others.

good deal all round

its also why i have spoken to Scott about a shop type deal for a max 10 or 20 products, on the same basis so i can sell some SCCP accounts for them, with the option to grow and upgrade :)
