Should I continue this in the SCCP forum?

Can you share a link?:lol:

Rather than starting a new thread, maybe one of the mods could simply split the thread off at the appropriate message. Would avoid confusion later, I'm sure.

Phil, you are now a moderator. Enjoy the power that has been bestowed upon you. ;)

Scott - Gee, I don't know whether to thank you or grab Jo Ann's cast iron and smack ya with it. ;)

Now I'll never leave the forums.:rolleyes:

And now it just dawned on me... I caught up on at least a dozen threads and didn't notice the change... Man I must be more tired than I thought, or my daughter's blondeness is contagious. :D

Congrats on your 'promotion', Phil :lol:

Eric, I don't know how to upload to the root (the shop is on SDrive). Would I see all the files if I went to it through the Direct FTP program?
I tried the absolute links, hoping they could 'find' the image at *******.com, but no-go.

So, I need to get the .ico file into the SCCP site somehow so the relative links will work.

Note: If your using S-Drive for your shop you'll need to use the absolute method as you don't have access to any folders in your shop. Just add the favicon to a folder in the main S-Drive site that the shop is tied to. Give the folder that the favicon is in a unique name like shopicon so you can remember what its for when your working on the main site.

Does this mean I need 2 Favicon files? I already have one on the main site. So I take that same favicon, duplicate it and re-name it, but leave it with the main site files? I only tried to use my existing favicon using the absolute links with my .com and file name.

Just for the fun of it – if I didn't have a site, just a shop on SDrive, how would I get it into the root folder?

I think this needs to be address with a suggestion for CC to give S-Drive shops a storage folder to publish alternate content to. Just like your S-drive site. You can use an absolute link to your main site favicon. That's how mine is done on my S-Drive Shop. :)

With favicons such a common feature, it would be nice if that was an option under the shop settings.

Rats, now I have to figure out why my links didn't work :(

Got it! Just had to change the order of things in my links. I copy/pasted my relative links from the site to the shop settings and added the URL to them.

So instead of:
<link href="http://erics-site.com/favicon/favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" />

I have:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://my-site.com/favicon.ico">

That's it! This flipping site is finished! – until the next edit, that is :P
