1) When can I use a subgrid ?.
2) What is the difference between a subgrid and container?
3) When you use a subgrid and when a container?

A container is supposed to contain something, e.g. some code from a different application (navigation, form, Google map etc.)
A subgrid can be used if you need more rows inside another row/column, like in the one I replied to you about last week.

There might be other uses as well, that I can't think of right now.
