I was using both GTMetrix and the Google speed checker thingie a lot last winter when I was working on a site for a client. I got the feeling that they both haven't quite caught up with html5 and css3 yet, and not with responsivity either (like they want dimensions on images). Unless something has changed drastically, I would not bank on them.
