I thought RED was supposed to be compatible with mailchimp, but it doesn't appear that it is.
First issue is that the @import for google fonts isn't supported by mailchimp, but I was able to use this trick to fix it: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1438 … p-template" class="bb-url"> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1438 … p-template.
The major issue is that the emails look horrible when they are sent/received by mailchimp. I think mailchimp is trying to correct code that RED produces resulting in a broken email.
I attached the file I'm having issues with.

RED works perfectly with MailChimp and no modifications need to be made to the code.

I attached the html file that is generated and gives me the initial import error. If I correct that, the email looks fine in mailchimp (like your screenshot), but when it saves and is sent, it appears that the code is changed and the email doesn't look right. Can you send yourself a test email through mailchimp from the html that I attached to confirm.

I made no changes at all. I simply pasted the HTML markup directly from RED into MailChiimp Code box and it worked.

Did you try the html file I attached? Because when I paste that code in, I get this error right away...

Your first screenshot appears that the code is minified in some way, but that's not what I get when I export.

I took your RED project file, exported it and then pasted in that markup. Worked each time I tried.

How about the html file I attached... because I think the issue is that the exported code you are getting is different than what I'm getting!

Hey Paul,
Mailchimp is supposed to support web fonts but right now it seems it works on some accounts, and not on others. We tested it with 3 accounts, and 1 imports them properly (Scotts account :P).

They talk about their support for web fonts here http://templates.mailchimp.com/design/typography/ and we are using the same import code. Best seems to contact them regarding this issue.

Until the figure out the issue you can use web safe fonts in RED (maybe Arial which you use as fallback) or simply strip that piece of @import code from the export. As to how the email looks when saved or sent (without web font), this is perfect and exactly as designed in RED. If any code is changed, or if the email is displayed differently, it probably has to do with the 'hack' you found and added.

Please let us know what they say regarding the google fonts issue and if the email saves and sends correctly without using google fonts applied.
