How to remove/deal with the largest...

Hi,

There is a breakpoint hidden under the Layout/Element/design controls and I cannot get rid of it.

I searched the forums and saw this post http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/respons … reakpoint/ and the referenced reply.

I've tried the suggestion referenced above and hit the remove breakpoint minus sign 20 or 30 times but the breakpoint remains.

As I'm working on a laptop, I added an external monitor and extended the desktop over both screens. This allowed me to widen the RED window to be several thousand pixels wide.

I can then see that the offending breakpoint is red rather than the normal white. So it looks like some sort of special breakpoint. My styling and elements are fine when the email is narrower than this breakpoint but wrong (because I didn't know it was there above it.

What should I do with it?

My current thinking is to just slide it as far to the right as I can, but that still means that the styling is incorrect beyond it (which I accept is unlikely ever to be seen).

Ideas? Or suggestions about what I should do differently next time to avoid this problem?

Thanks,

Alasdair.

The RED breakpoint is the default breakpoint used by the Email Framework and can not be removed. However, it can be repositioned without being visible :)

On the Layout pane at the bottom you find a grid section. There you can set a pixel value for this breakpoint (we recommend using 720 for the grid width and 1st (default) breakpoint — at least that is what we use for our emails :P)

Hope this works for you!

Hi,

Thanks for the responses. I'll give that a go.

I now have the problem that the styling either side of this breakpoint is different e.g. some things are red below it and blue above it. Is there any easy way to get the styles to match either side of it? In my case I want the styles applied below the break to also apply above it.

It's not a massive amount of work to apply them by hand, but would be useful to know in future when working with other breakpoints.

Thanks,

Al.

With the white breakpoints you would simply be able to remove them, but in this case that's not possible, I am sorry. The best forward here seems to reset the styles (on the type, class selectors) and reapply them. This will result in the cleanest code.
