I am re-making my old VSD site. So far have mostly done the home page, a couple of example free bids or competitive bids (used RCS for them), the blog, phone and email button links. There are the main heading menu link pgs that have not been started yet and about 20 slide shows of job examples. Plus I could add another more than 20 of the job examples. Probably should remove some of the old and replace with some new examples. I had a customer recently say though that the picture examples were very helpful in getting them to make up their mind of who to go with.
I plan on using the slide shows stand alone because one of the main topic example pgs may contain 10 or so under the heading so will be putting a main image of the slide to link to the stand alone slide show. I started with the 2 slide default example that opens in the application and altered it to this example.
Personally I never use small devices so I am not well versed in their use. I believe that my choice of controls may be awkward for mobile devices and would like to have suggestions for preferred slide controls.

Please give advice so as to get the text content in these slide shows to best enhance sites SEO thank you.

Hiya Greg,

I would highly suggest you do one of 2 things. Either slow the speed of the slider down, or break up the text in the slider to a sentence per slide as it goes by way to fast to even try to read much more than the first line. Always try to consider the speed of your sliders according to it's content so that if you put a lot of text in, make sure that slide or the entire slider (if the slides don't have separate settings per slide) goes slow enough to accommodate the content. :)

Thank you Jo for your feedback. I made some changes to the file. Went into the animation settings and took off the auto play. Made the controls more visible. Took the title off and raised the controls up into the image so that the image fit better to mobile screens.

Have to click to advance now. Am wondering if swipe works. I do not have any way of checking that. Still open for feedback...

Another new slide show, this is a big one 55 slides. This job or multitude of jobs on one house over a two and one half year period. The first slide is the contract for the interior paint job and the second slide is a description of most of the things pictured. Its manual no auto sliding.

Nice job Greg. The only suggestion I would make is to make all of your images the same size so the user doesn't need to scroll the page to select an image or hit the next or previous arrows.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Eric, Thanks for your feedback. I agree about the scrolling being frustrating. I have a tendency when taking pictures to sometimes use the camera level and other times turn it on end. Guess that I will need to edit the photos so as to get them all to render similar. I do not think that I can get the first slide to be the same size though, because in order for it to be responsive it has to keep getting taller.
I had to do the whole thing over a couple or several times. One suggestion that I would make to people on making large slide shows is to know how many frames you need from the beginning and put them all in at first. I started with 20 slide show and had great difficulty adding more at a later time in its development. Ended up doing it over from scratch and starting with the 55 frames and all of its pics in the image library from the start. imported them from a previous attempt.

Sorry to put two entries in a row. Its some hours later and I have made some more changes. Experimented around and the current publish seems to be the best that I can do without making dramatic changes to the images. I removed the icon indicators and adjusted the previous and next controls so that they remain in the same orientation to the bottom of the slide content throughout. My future slide shows I will try to keep the images very close to the same size and orientation.

What I do for a mixture of portrait and landscape images is to place the portrait images on a canvas that same size as the landscape images and make it's background what ever color works best with the site. I do this in Photoshop.

Yep that's what I do too, works well that way for me.
