"News ticker" in Responsive Content...

I am trying to build a simple one-liner "news ticker" in RCS. I have no problem making a field with scrolling text which I can put on my website. The problem is when the field is too small to display all the text in the news feed. I want the text to scroll from right to left - and not stop until the end of the text is displayed (i.e. the beginning of the text is then hidden which is ok).

I have played with all the setting for right / left adjustment (on Position and Align) on text, slide and slideshow - but the text still stops when it reach the left "edge" (and the last part of the text is then missing). Of course this is getting even worse on smaller screens.

Anybody built a simple news ticker with scrolling text who can help?

Thanks,
SAm.

Hi Sam.
Can you share a link to what you've tried so far?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

Hi Eric,

You can see the test site at amland.coffeecup.com - the "ticker" is at the top (center). Unfortunately, the site is mainly in Norwegian - but the test in front of the ticker says "Nyheter:" (News).

I have also attached the ticker RCS file and the RSD project file (the ticker is so far only embedded in the index page).

Appreciate any input! As you can see, the slider works sort of ok - but the end of news feed no 2 and 3 is missing. I want the text to continue to scroll until the end of the sentence is displayed....

Regards,
Sam.

Give this a try.
Take a look at slide 3 and what I did to the margin width and position.
I also increased the duration for the animation so you have time to read it. It should give you a grasp on what's needed.

Thanks, Eric,

This definitely gives me an idea about what I have to do. However, if I understand this correct, It will still not stop the text from scrolling when it has reached the end of the text? And since the text (the different news feeds) will vary in length, there will still be some challenges. Of course, the text does not have to stop at all if I can make it scroll slow enough. On my computer, the "scrolling" for slide 3 was still quick (and not smooth).

Maybe the easiest thing to do would be to copy some java script for a marquee and past it in to my website?

Anyway, thank you so much for your help and advice!

Regards,
Sam

Yes, I would take a look at a script for doing tickers. There's plenty and they have options.
