WYSIWYG and Insert Image - Post ID 7769

Not a newbie at design, but I might be a bit rusty.

In CC HTML Editor I want to insert an image directly into text (an image of a blue phone). The cursor is where I want to place the image, I select the Insert Image, choose the image (a PNG file in this case) and fill out the attributes and reduce it to 50x50 pixels.

When I select insert, the image replaces all page content and is at the upper left-hand corner of the page.

If I copy the image (right click - copy) and then use the [back arrow] to go back to the proper file instance where all the content was present, then [paste} where I have the cursor, the image goes to the upper left again, but I drag it down to where I want it; or once it actually went where I wanted it.

But, when I previewed the page the image was smack in the middle of the page rather than down toward the bottom where it appears (appears in WYSIWYG one place and in real time another).

My only thinking is I have to put the image inside a table. Also the image is top layer so it can float over everything else. I'm ok if it is a deeper layer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Good suggestion Bruce. Is that just simply setting the image as a background or setting it back a layer or 2?

Perhaps I am going about this all wrong.
