Hi guys

I have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and it appears CCHTML doesn't like it much. When starting it I get the following show-stopper:

I realise the system requirements don't mention Windows 7, but since this OS is due very soon I was wondering how far away support for it will be?

Thanks

Dave.

I am running Windows 7 here but I do not get that error myself. Got any information about your setup?

It is my old Vista setup upgraded to Windows 7. I haven't reinstalled the editor yet, I was waiting to hear from you guys before breaking anything further. It seems weird I would have to reinstall the editor anyway and wonder if by doing so I will be overwriting any 'new' versions of system files. It may also be that the upgrade has broken some settings somewhere and a simple editor reinstall would fix it, however this is the only piece of software on my machine not to survive the upgrade.

Will reinstall and let you know.

I am sure there will be some growing pains for us with Windows 7. Just because it becomes officially released, we will have a software release schedule that we need to go through for each application. Will will of course give top priority to our more popular applications.

For the most part, I think all of our software should work without any problems.

Hi Dave, not sure why you are getting this error, not only am I using HTML Editor (Not the free one, not tried that one) but most of the other CC programs as I own nearly all of them and have had no problems. With that in mind, I have many programs on this development machine and have had next to no problems with any programs, not only the CC ones.

Cheers
Jeff

PS. I assume that you did a clean install of Windows 7, not sure of the upgrade as it is not recommended on our MS Partner site, suggests to do a clean install even though they are bringing out upgrade versions.

Hi team

Thanks for the support; a reinstall of the editor fixed the issue. A side-effect of that is the Windows update-based error I was getting on startup under Vista has now gone. The editor appears to work perfectly now so its all good all round.

Thanks again.

Dave.

Hello, I have used your software for years and love it and have had no problems with installation or downloading. Recently I had a crash with my windows vista machine and had to purchase a new one. It has windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and when I try to download the editor I keep getting this message: unable to download coffeehtml2010R.exe from www.coffeecup.com
the server returned an invalid or unrecognized response. Any help is much appreciated, thanks, Barb

HI Barb,

its my understanding that the software is not designed to work with 64 bit, however some others here have managed to get it to work so hopefully they will be able to explain how they managed it.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

You're having trouble downloading the file itself? What browser are you using to download it, maybe try a different browser and see if it does the same thing? I would suggest that you put in a support ticket and see if they can give you a hand if swapping to a different browser doesn't work. Don't think I've seen your issue show up on the forums so far so it may be an isolated thing that maybe your firewall is blocking it too, check that also and see.

Let us know if any of that works and if you do end up putting in a ticket, please come back and let us know how you got it fixed in case anyone else has that trouble in the future they can find an answer here. Good luck on it Barb :)
