Hello

As a newbie to website construction I would really appreciate some advice as to which Coffee Cup software would help me build a website similiar to this.

http://www.i3dthemes.com/frontpage-temp … _hotel.htm

If anyone could tell me how this site was constructed that would be a start. For instance would I need to draw each one of the graphics used - buttons, graduated colours etc or is there a programme which has a selection to choose from. If I have to draw them then I'll have a go - would PSP 7 be good enough - I know PSP will make buttons okay.

Thank you for any advice

smokeyone,

To do things similar to the site to which you pointed, would likely need something like the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. You can do some of that with the Visual Site Designer, but some of it requires an editor.

Buttons are available as graphics in many locations, including CoffeeCup. I have almost every CoffeeCup program and one of those programs installed a folder with blank buttons. It is easy to use a graphics program such as Photo Shop or my favorite GIMP (a free program) to modify those buttons by adding text. Of course, if you are already familiar with a graphics program, you can build the buttons you want. Graduated colors are also done with graphics programs.

You didn't indicate how familiar you are with HTML programming, but these forums here are a good place for everyone to learn. Beginners to experts can find help here. You can also learn a lot from W3SCHOOLS at http://www.w3schools.com/ where you can find help for everything from (X)HTML to CSS to JAVASCRIPT, etc.

I hope this helps, and let us know how we can help. These forum groups tends to be a friendly group.

Thank you very much for the advice. Do you think the buff coloured graduated top etc was made with a similiar graphics programme to your suggestions....
If you try the demo version of the website the photographs change which I assume is a flash programme - does this mean I would need another Coffee Cup software programme as well..

Thanks again

You can use any graphics program to create a graduated color line. That one is made with #F5C53F at the top, a single line of #F3B81E, and the bottom of #ECA805. Make your graphic vertically with those three colors to the height you want and then use it as a background color repeated across the width of the web site.

The only flash I use is that created by a CoffeeCup Program such as the Flash Form Builder, Web Video Player or Flash Photo Gallery. There are folks here that are expert with Flash and can answer your Flash questions.

I do know that the changing photos can be done with a CoffeeCup product which you can read about here http://www.coffeecuphelp.com/firestarter.php and here http://www.coffeecup.com/firestarter/ The second link will have several examples of things done with Firestarter.

If you don't use a Flash program such as the CoffeeCup Flash programs, you will need something like the Adobe Flash program, to produce the effects on that web site.

Thanks again for the info. Coffee Cup seems to have covered everything - all I need to do now is follow a steep learning curve.
Thank you again

smokeyone,

Make the learning curve as easy as possible, by reading here in the forums, and asking questions. The regulars here are very helpful.

The changing photos bit could be done in Firestarter but you could use a script to accomplish the same sort of effect. There's loads of free slideshow scripts here:

I like the Conveyor Belt one. If you use CoffeeCup HTML Editor, it's pretty easy to integrate them into your website, basically it's a case of copying and pasting the relevant bits of code into the head and body of your page.

Thank you for the link - there are loads of programmes to choose from so I could try out different styles.
As I have only just started playing with the Coffee Cup Editor it would be a great help to know where to start if I wished to re-produce something like this...
