What's the point of the Editor these days? No one can afford to not use responsive design, and some of us would like to do our own coding for that, yet the Editor hasn't had any significant developments for a verrry, verrrry long time, doesn't seem to incorporate any features for responsive design, and the promised (for years) responsive templates seem to be on the never-never list. OK, so you're pitching all your marketing at responsive tools, but nothing for editing them, and the Editor has been left like a shag on a rock out in the sea somewhere far from home.

As you're saying, some of us would like to do our own coding, also for responsive sites. Nobody is stopping you if you want to do this in the HTML Editor. Although I have been using RSD and RFF a couple of times, I'm still using the Editor most of the time. I never use the templates, haven't looked at them for ages. Instead, I code my own, or I use Bootstrap or Foundation right from their respective websites, with all the components they have created. You should find, though, in your 'purchases', a range of responsive themes. They can of course also be used as templates, just remove the formatting.

Another thing you could do, of course, if you have RSD, is to create your template in RSD and export it, and then pick it up in the Editor and do the further coding there.
Ha en riktig god dag!

There's a bunch of responsive themes/templates for the html editor.
https://www.coffeecup.com/store/themes/html-editor/
I think these are all responsive as they use to list both an now there's only one per name.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Doing a health information / peer-support (community service) site (or rather trying to convert the flat site to a responsive one) and just frustrated at not being able to find just the "right" thing -- site will be text-heavy and all the examples I've seen are very "pretty" but ...

But I like your pesticide application site, Eric. It looks basic and do-able enough to be encouraging, without the "inflexible" cookie-cutter style of, say, Mobirise (although some might say that's just Bootstrap).

But it'd be great to have more responsive features built into the Editor -- even a viewer for different device sizes / orientations would be a start; breakpoints; customizable snippets for social sites -- some sort of economical middle ground between the RSD and the Editor -- not too impressed with that in Chrome, say. But no one seems to have one that's all that good -- even the Mobirise visual designer / Code Editor combo, (although "cheap" USD 69 vs min USD 148 for CC), doesn't seem to be without "quirks". CC editor itself hasn't seemed to have had any "must-have" features for several "versions".

Inger, thanks for your input, too. Still learning all about this and haven't yet looked all that much at the components on the "home" Bootstrap and Foundation sites, need to do that, now I'm beginning to learn more about what components I'm looking for in my "new vision".

You can easily alter the theme to strip content and only use the responsive system. On the pestlogbook site I used the grid system from one and it works great.
