Does anyone know if there is a setting that prevents vista from saving my new pages in a virtual folder (compatibility modes). I was helped in an other thread and was told to copy the file from the virtual folder to another then open in html editor. I would like not to have to do this. if possible

Thank you all for your help with this.

Cheers,
Kevin

Well, I'm the one who gave you that suggestion. It's not a setting in Vista that causes this. You had said you moved those files from a different computer to your Vista machine. I had this problem myself, and have helped a few people with it. It can affect other files and programs and not just coffeecup stuff, so you may run into this again with other software.

Is there a reason why you can't copy your files to a new folder and test to see if it works with that new folder? As a backup, (if that works), change the name of your 'original' folder to something else ( from say...'mywebsite' to 'mywebsite_old'). Then you could rename your new folder to 'mywebsite' and just use it like you did before. Vista will believe that it created the folder, therefore the content will behave as if it belongs to Vista instead of some other computer.

I am glad that it seems I was correct about the compatibility mode issue for your files. I don't know of any other way to get them back into regular working condition. If you do find another way, please post the steps to help others with this same issue.
