I plan to take classes on Java script and am wondering if I can use the HTML software or have to use something else.
( a basic editor is all that is recommended) .

Hi T. Brown,
I would not call the html editor a basic editor. If you developing html then the editor is the one but I think you would be better off using something geared towards script development.:)

Thanks for your advice. I currently have HTML editor and have 1 website with s-drive on it and 1 website that is using FTP server. Thought I might check and see what the possibility was.

Also The website using the ftp server I am having problems with uploading a specific file to the server. It says a calendar embedded in java script is missing but the file is there. Would it be better to use Direct FTP for that website

It's probably a linking issue in the script or the file is missing. Highlight the file and make sure it get's uploaded. If it's a php file then you won't be able to upload it to S-Drive.

I appreciate your help this website is one that a friend wanted me to take over. It has java script in it and the calendar is an asp. file . It is hosted on a another server and I set it up using the FTP server with the codes they gave me I downloaded the files but I am having trouble uploading. It could be I have never used the FTP part before or something else. The upload usually flags with dependencies missing.

If your using the html editor the best thing to do is to use the project feature. It keeps files nicely sorted. This is really nice for multiple sites on the same or different servers.
Here's a KB article to help you out.

I have already done what is said in that article. I created it in website projects and that page looks similar to the one I used to help me set up the FTP Server but I think my problems probably have something to do with the asp codes and java script in the file. I might need the Direct FTP file or something different.

I appreciate all your help in the issue

I Do appreciate all of your help I think I finally got it. I have to change check dependencies to ask me instead of make sure they are there. I also had to check it out on the other browsers and a separate computer. On Those the part I was taking off is gone. For some reason my laptop which I do the main work on still shows it but it shares internet with another computer and on that one it is gone. So I think the problem is solved. Thanks for your help.

Yes, there's a few settings in there that control how the program behaves when uploading. What you choose really depends on how you use the program and how important it is that your directories online are the same as your pc. Glad you got it working for your specific application.:)
