I uninstalled my registered version of Coffee Cup HTML and installed the prerelease version. It runs and looks great but, it says I have 28 days left. I thought updates were free to registered users. Will the full version be released before my 28 days runs out? I can't find the "What is a Website Project" document. Is it only included with the final release version?

This is only a prerelease, not the official one which is why it will expire in 28 days. Once we officially release the software, go to: http://www.coffeecup.com/help/myorders/. Once the software list appears, click on "Download Now" next to the software you wish to install.

HI Scott,

I downloaded the link to preview the new editor and I deleted the older version from my computer per the instructions.. Is this new editor an upgrade or a completely new program. Now I have the trial version for 28 days unless I purchase it... Will I have to purchase the program. I no longer have the previous version on my computer... Just a bit confused..

TY

To turn on the Visual Editor, go to the Tools Menu > Preferences and uncheck the box "Hide Visual Editor Tab".

I've yet to try the new version but I do have one query.

A few months back you mentioned that the Website Colour Schemer would no longer be supported because it's not actually made by CC. Is this still the case and does this mean that HTML 2009 will not include it?

If not is it possible to either transfer the old WCS files (where ever they may be) and install them into the new version myself or can it be purchased from the company that made it.

Also Douwe de Jong asked about the EURO symbol still missing. If he opens up the Coffee Cup folder on the C drive and looks for a file called 'specchar.dat'
Open that with Notepad and look for the currency references near the top and then insert this piece of code into it

"euro", "€", "¥", "€", "HTML 3.2", "euro sign"

Close and save it.

Fire up CC and then the Characters tab and you'll see it listed.

I am not sure where you read that. Website Color Schemer is owned and created by us and we still fully support it. The latest version is also included with the HTML Editor by going to the Tools Menu and select Website Color Schemer.

[quote=John Howland]This may be a newb Q - forgive if it is. Rather than uninstalling my production version, can I install the pre-release into a new directory and have it work, or does it share reg keys with the curent version?

I would not suggest you do that. Having multiple versions installed can cause many issues. I want you to have the best experience as possible when using the new version ;)
