I just paid up to download the HTML Editor.
I have just about gone crazy. When I use the visual editor to drag features to new locations the software takes it upon itself to make many versions of other text and pictures.
Has anyone else seen the symptom where the software makes multiple repeats of your page?
See the mess on my Brakes page, attached.
I can't work this way.
Thanks,
Gary

[update]
I have Windows 7 64-bit.
I note that the problem is less pronounced on my pages with fewer tables.
I am working with my very old HTML web site pages, trying to do updates in this new software

Gary, we would like to help, but your intended attachment seems to have been forgotten.

I guess that's another reason not to construct your layout using tables. I refuse to revise a website that somebody made with an older version of Dreamweaver and has a tabular structure. CSS FTW!
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
I guess it is my mistake that I've had a web site since 1993. The reason I got HTML editing software was to avoid the issues of the new CSS environment. Maybe the solution is to just start over and redraft my 50 web pages.
Tables used to be the cats meow.
Anyway, for those interested, here is my mangled web page. About anything I do in Visual causes the software to add a bunch of replicas.

Just kidding.
All I did to cause the problem in this page was to change the main table width from 848 to 1000, then see Preview.
Thanks,
Gary

OK, you are going to think it is my fault, but the Forum editor refuses my .html file as an attachment, saying it must be a forbidden format.

I have to ask just because although I don't see any explanations in here saying that you've done this, the title is basically showing that you are switching from the Visual to the Code tabs back and forth in the editor? If not then, never mind, but if so you need to know that that is probably what is messing up your site pages... the 2 tabs do not play together nicely at all and you need to choose one or the other and stick with it for your pages.
If you haven't done this then never mind, I don't have any other insights myself either without seeing the page code so I too am hoping there's a link to look at

If you change the file extension from .html to .txt, all will be well.

Thanks Guys. Seems it is old news that you have to use either the visual or html editor, but not both. Used to be able to use either or both with the old FrontPage software. Now, the "modern" software can't do it.
Looks like I will have to learn to use new softeare and remove all the tables from my web pages. What does one use now days instead of tables? I guess you just let the software take over and let the computer do the driving - like new cars. My car is a 40 year old 240Z and I do all the repairs myself.
Time will come when we all live in a virtual world and don't really know what is happening behind the screen.
Thanks,
Gary
