There's a bug in the HTML Editor 12.6

Hi all,

The HTML Editor 12.6 was released on Apr 24, 2012 but I just downloaded couple of weeks ago. Using it every day, and experience few times that the content in one of my web pages can be overwritten by another web page.

It goes like this, pageA.htm will have content from pageB.htm. End result is: pageA.htm has the same content as pageB.htm.

I don't know what triggers this but it seems to happen every time I open multiple pages for editing and using the Replace function to replace some texts or a block of sentences.

Does using Win Vista cause all this due to some incompatibility or it merely is the bug making wave inside the HTML Editor program?

Anyone experiencing what I'm experiencing? I hope the CC guys can look into this and remove this bug in the next version. :)

Just to make it aware to those who are using in case the page has been overwritten and you unwittingly upload to your site. If there's no backup for it, you'll have to reproduce the content from scratch. If it gets on to your website, your visitors will be frustrated to see the exact contents in 2 different pages.

By the way, another issue is with the FTP within the editor itself. Uploading multiple files can cause the FTP to hang half-way thru' the process. It happens when I tried to upload 10 or even more files like that. So, I have to split up into few uploads with 5 or 6 files each time.

I love the cool look of this latest version but the proper functionality is what we need after all.

Why are you still on VISTA! ;)

What you are describing sounds more like a bad installation. I would suggest following all the steps here at http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … n-cleanup/ and see if that helps.

If you paid for access to the Pre-Release, you can open a support ticket and request version 12.7. This version includes many new features and enhancements.

Oinkrabbit's problem sounds like something I reported some months and builds ago.

I just has the same problem with version 6 build 448 today.

That's why I am visiting the Coffee Cup site to see if there was any mention of this or a fix. I see there is a new download available, so perhaps this will fix the problem.

I am on Windows XP.

Version 12.7 has been released since this topic was opened. I would suggest trying that version first and see if it helps.

I'm about to upgrade to 12.7, using 12.6 on windows 7 now, and I just wanted to mention that I've also experienced this copying over page problem in the last month as well. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the latest version.

I have not had that issue with the new build and I have been on it for about a month. So, I will have to say that the issue has been resolved.

I have the same problem with version 12.7 build 454. Aside from that the SAVE ALL does not always saves all open documents.
For now I am back using version 2010 build 369 which works fine.

Fortunately Tech support gave me a link to download the older version because it is not posted anywhere.
Maybe the next build after 454 will have it fixed, until then it's version 2010 for me.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
