On the picture page the background is showing through the slideshow.

Yes, I just noticed. It turned out that I had used settings for opacity that make everything inside the container inherit the opacity. I have now changed it on my testsite: www.eikweb.no/test and will zip it up and send it to Matt.

It looks great to me :), I'm currently trying to figure out a better way of showing off the images, but first how would you guys go about scanning images from a magazine? Should I cut the pages out of the magazine to get a flat image for the site, or do I just leave it like that? I only have one copy of the magazine btw, I guess I could put the images in frames after I remove them from the magazine.. :)

You may have seen that I had straightened the images from that magazine, and also made them a wee bit smaller. If you can't use them, you need to rescan them and align them so that the illustrations in the bend fit together. And make sure you put the pages from the mag straight into the scanner!

Do the pages have the images covering the whole, without any margins? If there are margins, you could use a 'book scanner' (nearest library, maybe) and let one page hang down over the edge of the scanner. If you want to do a rescan and there are no margins, you would probably have to cut out the pages. Or maybe you can get them from the mag directly? Anyway, you should mention the source of the images, they are property of that magazine, and you may get in trouble if you display someone else's work without permission.

@Inger I have permission to use the images through the company itself, I was actually going to create a "links" page giving credit to them, I have their logo, all the images from the magazine on a disc and ready to roll, I just need to do a little bit more research before I give credit to them. They were really nice at the company and sent all the files no problem, since I knew the artist. So i'm going to go off that, but give credit to them as well, would you like me to zip up all the info and send it to you? Mostly images and attempted images by me..

If you have a 'smart phone' there is a utility called 'CamScanner'. I think it's about $5

It will let you photo any page and save as PDF and send through email to yourself. We use it all the time to send documents while on the road. I have a 5mp camera phone and it does a great job. The utility will let you crop/rotate the scan to get it just right. Then just convert the PDF to a JPG

Just another alternative ...

If you have an all in one printer they normally come with a scanner that would do the job properly. Most come with software allowing adjustments the same as photo software and allows a preview before final scanning to whatever resolution you want. I use an Epson all in one that also will scan film negatives etc.

I should thing Coral will also control the scanner through its Twain setup.

OK, I didn't know that you already had the permission. If you want to, you can send me the images.

Matt, I see that you have removed the heading from the two pages pictures and contact. Was that deliberately, or just an accident?

That slideshow of images, I wonder if it would look better if you made it a wee bit larger, especially increased the height. As it is, too much space is taken up by the label, the water mark and the zillion of white dots.

@Gunsmoke hey yeah I have an all in one printer, but I don't know how to size the magazine pages up correctly, it looks like they are all misshaped..
@Jo Ann HP All in One, it's good and works, but I wanted to see if I should cut out the pages so they are all even.. instead of having the borders all messed up
