Server configuration question - Post...

I'm moving my site to HostGator. I'm trying to create a Website Project, but I'm not sure of the settings.
For server, I just listed my site (www.puckettpublishing.com), then used the admin username and password from HostGator. I chose Standard FTP.

Has anyone used HostGator and can suggest why these settings fail (which they do)?

Thanks
Chuck Puckett

for the server you usually just use the domain itself so it is most likely :

puckettpublishing.com

Did you check with Hostgator to see what their settings were for ftp? That's the place to start for this as many times they are not the same for different servers. Some need the remote server location to be:

/public_html/

while others need localhost to be worked in there.

Best to check with Hostgator to see what their actual settings are. Also check to see if you need Passive checked or not too.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I'm administering an account with HostGator which has the server name 'gator1262.hostgator.com'.
I don't need passive login, and the web folder is indeed public_html.
