:/ In CoffeCup HTML Editor, in WYSIWIG view, how can I see where the Tables and Cells are? I find it impossible to make changes to the layout (e.g. split an existing table/cells or insert one inside another) because I can't actually see where the existing tables and cells are on the page. I've looked at all the menu options and settings, but nothing seems to show anything to visually indicate how the page is divided into cells and tables. Thanks.

You can set the borders to be visible by specifying a border width and color. You can do this either by CSS or within the <table> tag.

Hi
With CoffeeCup HTML Editor I never use the visual editor but working with code I use a trick visualize the tebles, I set a border 1 and when the code is complete I change border value to zero.
Maybe this helps you.

Per and Jimmy the Sailor - thanks for that, good tip. CoffeCup HTML is great if you are confident at working within code view, but I'm not at that level yet!

As a follow up, once you can see the tables and cells, if you want to split a table or cell, can you do that from WYSIWYG view?

Thanks again.

From my very limited experience with the visual editor, I suspect it would be difficult, at best, to 'split' a table or a cell. (Someone else may correct me on this...)
You should be able to add a row or a column, though, but I couldn't advise you about the exact steps involved.

With the code editor, of course, it is easy to modify a table any which way you want... ;)

Using the code editor - especially in split-view combination with the preview window - is not 'difficult'. You may want to consider moving over to that way of working, IMHO...

I split a cell en visual editor inserting a table inside with 2 columns. It´s a trick. I don't know either to work with visual editor, as I said never worked before, i tested now just for fun and try give an help.
The best way i found to insert a table was using the quick table option and after change some properties.
Start working with code in split view as Per said, it's easy and you will see it's much better.

I am trying to add a table to a html page. This is fairly easy and I understand the concept of saving just the table, but how do you edit it with visual editor?? I watched avideo clip of this and when clicking on the table, a box is opened up at the bottom of the screen so that you can edit the properties. However I cannot make this box appear or find out how to bring it up!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
