Replacing Default Info with My Image...
I am a beginner to HTML editing and trying to develop a website for my small business. I decided to use a default theme, “High Gloss”, with three pages of Home, About Us, and Contact Us. Once the “Website Project Settings” dialog box is setup, the software opens in Visual Editor. Across the top is a logo of LO/GO and the word Vadoo. I click on that area, which selects it. I then attempt to insert an image (my company logo), into that area replacing the LO/GO Vadoo information. I select “Insert”, then “Image”, locate and highlight the image in the Insert Image dialog box. Click Okay. Then I okay it copying the image to this website project. And nothing happens. The company logo image is not there. Some of the wording / text shifts position, but I cannot find the inserted company logo. I then switch to Code Editor looking for the image file name. It is not there either. Can someone point me in the right direction? The company logo image is probably too big, but I tried reducing it greatly before inserting it and it still didn’t appear.
I never use the Visual mode of the HTML Editor, so I can't help you with that. But a few things:
1. You are not supposed to alternate between the visual mode and the code mode. That will definitely mess up the code. Choose one of them and stick with it.
2. If the image is too large it is recommended to use an image editing programme to scale it down to the size you want. If you just give it a smaller height and width, the too large image will cause the site to load slowly.
If you have chosen the code mode, it should not be difficult to erase the code for the image you don't want and locate the image of your own logo (after having down-scaled it) and insert it.
