Question re: changing website host -...

I seem to have successfully changed website hosts, and the new host successfully migrated my entire website. I changed the DNS, which should propogate in the next 24 hours.

Next, in HTML Editor, when I open the old project will it connect and upload to the new DNS assuming the same URL? Or is there something else I need to do to update the server location? I looked for a way to use the site's new IP address (which has changed) instead of the URL (which has not changed), but couldn't find how to do it.

Or would it be easier to create a new project and flow everything backwards from the new web location?

Thanks!

You should be able to log in to your new hosting account and get your FTP info.
Then you can replace your FTP info in the HTML Editor.

if the details of the login are the same, in other words if the ID and PW and remote directory (this is the one that is usually a problem) are the same as well as the domain name, then you shouldn't have to change anything at all. If you migrated from a Windows server to Linux, then the remote directory will probably be different, but check with your host to make sure what the remote directory setup is for them.

Try it first once the domain has propogated and if it works your all set. If not then check the info above and see what's changed. Once you figure out what part has changed, open your Website Project settings and alter them to reflect the new settings and you should be good to go. :)
