Hi Everybody,

I've noticed several web pages that seem to highlight one part while dimming all the other parts.

I can see that sort of thing for say... a "Log-In" box.

What are those writers doing, and how/where can I study it? ( I don't even know what that process is called )

You might be talking of either Colorbox or Visual Lightbox. They are both made with jQuery script. Google them!
