I'm not totally sure if they added more as all the snippets are hard to keep track of and I have added so many of my own.

Yeah, I'd imagine you have an awesome snippet collection judging by all the great code you've shared on your site http://progrower.coffeecup.com . Not to hijack the thread, but any chance you'll be putting up the coding for that nifty flower pot effect on the front page?

Hi,
well maybe the Visual Site Designer should have been included in the update to replace the faulty Visual Designer. I would have thought a fix rather than a take away would have been more appropriate. Though the limited use of VD caused me no problems I can remember.

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to the program's Visual Editor. Over the years it had relied on controls that Microsoft had built into Windows but has been gradually discontinuing support for. In order to make the Visual Editor compatible with the new and important HTML5 web standards, we would need to research and develop a new way to program it — precious time that we'd rather devote to refining our beloved code editor.

We feel strongly about using the instant preview options when dealing with code. The split-screen preview shows changes on-screen as you make them, and the external preview can be open at all times in a different window (which is great if you use a second monitor). Try them! We're confident that you'll find these preview options just as useful as working with the visual editor.

If you would like to continue using the HTML Editor with the visual editing component, just open a support ticket and we can send you the last release that included it. Just note that this feature is no longer supported nor being developed.

Learn the essentials with these quick tips for Responsive Site Designer, Responsive Email Designer, Foundation Framer, and the new Bootstrap Builder. You'll be making awesome, code-free responsive websites and newsletters like a boss.

That's really too bad. Even though switching back & forth between Code & Visual Editor, and the cursor not following at the insertion point..... is why I never went to cc HTML Editor. I'm still using a version 1 of Microsoft Expressions. It is leaps and bounds above cc HTML as I can see. Front Page was even better for what I do. I switch back & forth all the time between the code & Visual. I really did hope that you would rewrite the code sometime to get them to work. It's sad to see you take a step back from what you had, instead of a step forward.
I still use the other products.......... This is just one that seems to have always been behind.

For visual you could well be right Scooterman, but VSD took that over for most users which is what it was intended for right? :P Other than that, for coding the HTML Editor is top notch really. Only a few things are missing from it that the big boys have, and the drawbacks from that are most definitely not worth the higher prices for many of us. I can't see paying hundreds of dollars for the other programs just for a couple extra features. Just my opinion of course, but since it is an "HTML" Editor I see it as a pretty good investment. :)

I've been trying out the VSD in place of the HTML Visual Editor and I hate it. I'm so disappointed, because I purchased the HTML Editor just two weeks before they took out the very feature I bought it for - the ability to swap back and forth between Visual and code views. Had I known this was coming, I never would have purchased the product.

If you open a support ticket, we can send you the previous version that contained the visual editor Deborah.

Hi Scott,

I did that and I have the previous version to use. The one great thing about Coffee Cup is it's customer service - you guys are awesome. I'll be sticking with the old version, and perhaps I'll come around on the VSD! :)
