Issues switching between code editor...

using 2010 build 323...

if I make edits in code editor, save, then switch to visual editor (no changes made, just checking layout) then back to code editor, the layout changes and some of the html is repeated, particularly near the bottom of the page...

anyone else seen this problem?

I would suggest you do a search on the forums on this issue, I'm too tired to type it all right now, but this isn't a problem, that's how it is, you need to make a choice between the 2 types of editing, visual "or" code, not both.

Hi Bronwyn...yes as Jo Ann said...the HTML Editor is not designed to switch between the two as they have two different coding styles and switching between the two mucks up your code.

So...you need to use one or the other not both.

If you want to use the HTML Editor and check what changes have been made just use the Preview pane not the Visual Editor.

If you prefer to use a Visual Editor its probably better to choose Visual Site Designer as it has more features or if you use the Visual Editor in HTML Editor don't switch between the two.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Dunno, but I suppose it has a better chance of being seen and wondered about than if it's buried in the myriad of other posts lol.

I don't know... I think it would perhaps be better if we made a sticky topic called 'Don't switch between Code mode and Visual mode' and then came up with the answer why not right in the first post. I don't think people are likely to read a long discussion before they find the answers.

Yes I think that might be a good move Inger and close the thread so it doesn't fill up with other stuff :)
