issue with IE7 - Post ID 176610
sorry, I'm completely new to this. I created a website with coffeecup HTML Editor, using their HTML5 template. Works great, even for someone who has only built one small website 10 years ago. However, it turns out that everything works well on most browsers except in IE7 (and apparently several companies tend to be behind so still use that....). www.analitiqs.com is the name of the website and the bar that should be at the bottom, shows up 'in the middele' accross the other text, like it has a fixed position. any suggestions how to fix this (without destroying it in other browsers of course)? thanks already.
Not sure how much work you'll be in for... I'm certain that there is VERY limited compatibility between IE7 and HTML5. You could do a Google Search for the terms IE7 and HTML5 and see what work-arounds have been developed for which problems/incompatibilities. Maybe one will come close enough for you to be able to use/modify for use.
Living the dream, stocking the cream

I don't think you'll find much help anywhere for that issue. IE7 is not really very HTML5/CSS3 compatible. Although you may get "some" things to work, you will definitely find a lot of things that will not work at all. There isn't much you can do about that, it's just not able to display and use the newer systems like the newer browsers that are already set to work with it.
If your business is geared more towards other businesses that may be using very old browsers like that, I would highly suggest you "not" use the new HTML5 and CSS3 systems. Unfortunately it's such a loss for those companies that rely on old versions of browsers due to being so stupid lol. They are so worried about security yet they are less secure on those old versions by far as always the newer ones fix security issues. Go figure.
Having said all that, if you're determined to use HTML5/CSS3 then there are workaround codes you might be able to use to display differently to the older browsers and have it not show some of the new setups on the old browsers. That may be what you need to do for some of your issues. I would highly suggest a good tutorial on how to use the new structures might be needed for you to do this if you don't have that knowledge already.
Good luck on it

As a Canadian, I can find no fault with any website featuring Wayne Gretzky quotes

Thank you all for your feedback! very much appreciated
For now I will take the advise not to change anything. It working well in the other browsers and on the ipad/iphone, etc. so I'm happy about it. I will indeed just advise the ones that do notice to use a different browser :-).
Happy to support Canada!
Kind regards,
Irma
