I wanted to save quite a few code snippets using this HTML Editor feature, but it doesn't want to save to the same directory that the program uses OR in the same format so that my saved items show up in that directory. The feature will only let me save as an HTML file, but that doesn't appear in the list on the Code Snippets tab. Am I doing something wrong?

The only thing you are doing wrong is not understanding how saving snippets operates, but that is OK I had a difficult time my self. When saving a snippet you must highlight the text you want to save before trying to save it. This will enable you to do what you want, save the code to the proper place and with the correct file extension.
