I have Installed the latest HTML Editor BUT...I'm wondering if the program I REALLY need (for ease and speed) is Visual Basic. I have a couple of friends who have it and said that I really don't need HTML Editor; Visual Basic is the way to go. SOOO...I'm asking your opinion. I know it's your software and there's a cost, but I feel y'all are pretty honest guys and will give me honest feedback.
The other issue is FTP...can I upload pages to my website from either HTML Editor or Visual Basic or do I need to purchase the FTP program as well? (can you tell I haven't used it yet? Explanation: I have Dreamweaver MX and it will not work on my W7 OS and I REFUSE to spend a kazillion bucks for what little bitty work I'll be doing.
HTML Editor vs Visual Basic &...
First suggestion, download the trial version of HTML Editor and try it out. It is nothing like VB! Visual Basic is a programming language and is used 'primarily' to create windows programs. HTML Editor is used to create HTML web pages, CSS pages, PHP pages and so forth for use on the internet. HTML Editor has built in FTP for uploading the files you create and publishing your site to the internet. However, DirectFTP does so much more, including letting you edit files that are on the internet live! Very handy at least for me.
As far as this being 'our software', well, we all love it but this is a 'users' forum. We all use the software but we don't work for CoffeeCup.
