Hello. A problem started recently where sometimes when I click to go to a website HTML editor opens instead of the website.
What the heck is going on?
Thanks for any suggestions as to why this is happening.
HTML editor opening when I click...
I can't tell you why it happens, but I had the same problem once. It seems that your system's 'default browser' has shifted to the html editor instead of what it was before.
Try installing another browser on your system and set it as the default. You can always go back to your preferred browser later.

I'm assuming you mean clicking on a shortcut on your desktop to load a website.
If you're using XP, you might be able to right-click on the shortcut and choose Open With, then Choose Program in the dropdown menu. From there you can pick the browser you prefer and check the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."
For whatever reason my Windows 7 doesn't have the Open With option when right-clicking, so you can try going to the Start Menu, and clicking Default Programs, then "Set your default programs" and there you can pick which extensions you want your favorite browser to open by default.
