I have owned the html editor since I first encountered CC and have kept it updated. I must confess I really have not used it. I started using it way back in the beginning when it had a split screen and then they did away with that so I started using vsd instead. I decided to try and start using the html editor for certain things like html and css validation and perhaps some other things. I read the tips after updating it today and they mentioned something about throwing out old menu and replacing with css menu? Is that a menu builder similar to the discontinued menu builder? Can I take my current menu from menu builder and fix it or redo it with the html editor? I tried downloading the site and saving to computer and it let me download basically the index pg and save that , I tried doing it save to computer where it saves more like the images and other things but i got error on that one and said it could not do it, so I changed the name of the folder to simpler name and still got error where it was not able to save the download. Would rather have the one with images becasue I have image related problems to address.

If you have the discontinued Menu Builder installed, it will open when you click on INSERT - Menu Builder. You can use it as is.
It's really a pity it has been discontinued, it was a very handy tool for HTML Editor users.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hi Greg,
If you have the menu builder why not work on your menu through that. Just because it was discontinued doesn't mean you have to stop using it.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I am thinking that it did not or gave error that could not download site because the folder needed to be existing already I gave it a folder name that was not there. I think that was the problem with that. So, I have had the html editor for 7 years now and have not used it and you people are suggesting that I continue to not use it. There is an html verification problem with the menu that came directly from the menu builder or the effect that RSD had on the menu builder I do not know. Was trying to use the html editor to solve that problem with the menu builder made as created by or effected by RSD seemed to be a logical course of action. If there is going to be no stand alone menu builder going forward why not begin to adjust to that? Menu is a major part of web design. I think that I made some changes to my site which was originated as RLM and menu maker then to original RSD and menu maker then to RSD2 and menu maker and I have a very large number of code problems showing up in red on the view source code. I'm thinking I got the errors by using the applications and fixing with the applications that gave me them is probably the wrong way to go. Seems to be more sensible to try and fix the code problems with the editor?... Sorry I'm really not trying to be argumentative and thank you for replying to my post. I'm thinking that if I use the RSD2 to fix the problems then i need to start from scratch and rebuild the site over again completely and the menu too to rid of all of the code problems probably come from all of the application changes, with site changes mixed in along the way.

I would open the menu in the menu builder and reexport it if you can. Then add the code for the menu back to your RSD site. I use the HTML Editor all the time to make small tweaks to my RSD sites. Any tweaks I make I try to go back into RSD and see if I can do them there so the next time I export it I won't need to alter it.

Thanks Eric, today I redid the menu with menu builder and still have the bad validating line of code anyway. So now will try to fix with html editor and then try to get that code back into the menu builder if possible like you suggest here.

What's not validating in the menu?

That was a bug in the menu builder that never got fixed. remove the extra " at the end.
This
id="submenu_submenu_4" ">

Should be this.
id="submenu_submenu_4">

You can use the html editor to do a replace to make it easier.
replace
" ">

with
">

Thanks Eric, for the very specific answer. I was looking on the verification and they was not explaining it as direct as you have, thank you. Will fix it some time today.
