HTML Editor/CSS Help on New Site -...

Hey all. I am new here, and to Coffee Cup SW and have been out of the web world for about 6 years.

Wisely, I decided to commit to redesigning the web site of my business on a very short timeline.

I am sort of happy with what I have - this is Ver. 0.8, located at; s553497454.online-home.ca.

My top navigation bar is not displaying as I would like - I thought I did all of the required fiddling in RLM (using Nova layout). I would like the page title to be justified left, with the nav menu justified right on the same plane. I know it's just a little code tweak, but I am wary/punch-drunk.

Also, I can't get the slug-line, "Ontario's Most Trusted Dive Training & Service Centre" up on the same plane as the logo, and the correct color.

The three columns in the travel section are centered, I would like them aligned left.

And finally ... I would like, "Call us, email us or visit us! We'd love to hear from you!!" on one line and centered.

Any help would be highly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Drew

For the title and nav did you set them to float left or right?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Drew,
Some of those text bits that you want to have on one line don't have space enough. Give them more width, or reduce the font size.
The page title and navigation are in separate divs, with some divs between them, so the nav div needs to be moved. You can avoid a div taking up all available width by giving it its own width.

It would be easier to help if we could see the .rlm file. If you upload it and give us a link, we could be more specific with helping you.

Thanks for the input so far, folks.

The URL to the RLM file is here:

I'm looking at it now.

The logo and the slug text: The logo has much too much space to the right of it (span6), and the text (also span6) has too little space. Maybe give them 4 and 8 spans respectively? And you may have to play with the top margin of the text to make it line up with the logo.

The text Call us, email us... etc in a 6 span has not space enough for one line. Make it full width (12 span) as there is room enough on the right side, and then click on the align center button.

I would float the page name left and the menu right, I think, to get it onto the same level. I'm not absolutely sure about the menu since usually code my sites myself and am not too familiar with RLM. But try that.

Your rlmp file, after I have played with it, can be found here: http://eikweb.no/test/TCSC-NovaALL.rlmp

Thanks Inger!

I can't open the file. After I downloaded it, I copied it to the working directory (renamed the original file), but can't open the new file in RLM.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Drew

Oops! That might be due to a version conflict (I have a beta version that is not available to all yet). Give me some time, and I'll 'downgrade' it...

Or just do as I have described in the post above.
