Bother Scott and the gang, that's what they are there for so you don't have to go through all this.
Chuck you need to open a support ticket. You have issues here that should not be happening if what you are saying is true. The Save button does "not" do any uploading at all and if it's doing it to you there is something wrong. Open a support ticket with the CC team and allow them to help you deal with this as this is definitely issues us users have not seen before.

If you are opening your files on the SERVER side in the HTML Editor when you save a file it WILL save to the server. This could explain why it was saving to the server.
