I have just installed the HTML editor 12 on my Windows 7 Home Premium computer using my admin account. I have an admin account and a user account. The editor works in the admin account but when I try and open an html file in the User account I get the message "Mark up data folder does not exis"t. How can I get this program working in my user account?

Thanks for the reference. Of course it works. What I don't understand is why there are programs being written which won't work in both admin and user accounts, when so many of them do. This is the second program like this that I have encountered in the last month.

It is a Windows Issue. And there are a lot of programs that have to be ran that way...

Basically Windows is saying to the program "I do not know who you think you are but you can not run that file here, you do not have permission."

And the programs are saying, "But my master told me too. :( Can you just allow me to do my job?"

And Windows says, "NO! Now, go away I am the boss of this computer..."

So, unless master (you) tells Windows that the programs are allowed to run on your behalf (that you trust it) Windows will be trying to kick that program out of its house...

Hiya Ian,

Are you installing version 12 for a specific reason? Such as going back to be able to use the visual editor? If not then you should consider doing an upgrade as there are a lot more features to 12.5 and there is another update coming out soon to add even more features and fixes.

If you installed 12.5 and just typed 12 then ... nevermind :P

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
