How does this upload button work? -...

I been messing around in the HTML editor trying to find an easy way to upload things to a different server and I found this button (that for the life of me I don't ever recall seeing, but has probably been there for years lol) that shows all the servers you have setup in the program when you click it. If you setup the subdirectories in each folder to be accessible it will also show them too (done in the setup of the server location area of the project setup).

Anyways, I have played with it a bit and cannot figure out how it works at all. I've tried clicking a file and telling it where to upload, and it does nothing. I've tried clicking a file then telling it where to upload by clicking the server and directory I want it in and then right clicking the file and choosing upload and it says it's uploading, even shows the right server... but the file never gets there.... tried clearing cache just to make sure it's not being lost in the shuffle of the browser, but it's not showing up the change anywhere that I can see sooooo.....

I checked the PDF searching for toolbars and searched for upload but can't find anything resembling that area soooo.....

Can someone please tell me how that little button works? Here's a screenie of what I'm talking about

P.S. While searching for this, I just also found a different way to get them uploaded via the My Computer tab and right clicking the file and choosing the server but.....

I still don't know if that's what that button at the top "should" be doing or if that's for something else?

HUuumum!!
Maybe you just found the Christmas Egg!

Actually, isn't that the FTP button, the way HTML Editor puts you stuff on your server??

That's what I was thinking, but it doesn't seem to work like I "think" it's supposed to lol. It's pretty confusing so I figure I'd ask if anyone has any ideas what to do with it.

That feature is just a shortcut to the File > Upload File to Server function.

Ok that part makes sense, but.... what should it be uploading and to where? Should you be able to highlight a file and upload it to whatever server you choose on that list and whatever directory in that servers list that you have setup?

If it's supposed to upload to whatever server and directory you tell it too by choosing from the list it gives you, then it's not doing it for me, it's uploading directly to the root of the server (below a directory above the public_html) so it's ignoring the path and making it go to root no matter which directory folder you tell it to go to. Just realized it was going there as I was reading your post as it made me wonder if it was ignoring the directory location.

That all depends on how you configured the server. If you edit your server details and go into the Advanced area, you can configure as many "Folder Bookmarks" as you like. This will then allow you to direct where to upload the file to on your server.

yep that's how I have it setup, I added 2 folders in that list to the server that I was trying to upload to. The folders show up in the list when I press the button, but when I choose a folder other than the root it is still going to the root folder.

Why do you lie all the time to me Jo Ann? ;)

I have used CC software for 10 years. Love it. The UPLOAD feature saves so much time.
I have 2 domains hosted by bluedomino.com and the pages upload GREAT. (ftp.bluedomino.com)

I have trouble with the upload feature when I am uploading pages to domains hosted by godaddy.com. I have to go to the DIRECT FTP and upload from there. That's a hassel. Any ideas?

CoffeeCup started bluedomino.com. Since BD is no longer associated with CC, it has slowly gone downhill.
Happy hollidaze from South texas!
